The ever-expanding world of comics - from the Sunday funnies and comic books to graphic novels, manga, and animation to video games -will be celebrated during Wildcat Comic Con, set for April 13-14 on Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus in Williamsport.
The convention's name is based on the Penn College mascot, the Wildcat, so named in 1966 after a college-wide contest sponsored by the Student Government Association of the former Williamsport Area Community College.

There also will be professional-development opportunities for educators and librarians to learn more about the use of graphic novels and comics in information literacy initiatives, as well as fan-friendly activities such as superhero panels, anime discussion groups, and "cosplay" (costumed role play) and gaming events.
Career Development: For the student who is considering a career in any of these worlds, there will be speakers presenting workshops on publishing, developing video games, and creating animated features.
Professional Development: For educators and librarians, there will be featured guests speaking on the professional aspects of literacy programs, teaching and learning, collection development, and more.
Award-winning authors will represent the broad spectrum of professional and fan presentations, panels, and workshops.
Fan programs will also feature a wide range of subject areas from superheroes to zombies and all points in between. And there will be costumes EVERYWHERE! All fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite comic or film characters and compete in Cosplay and dance the night away at a Masquerade Party.
