Cosplay Contest Guidelines

General information

Cosplay (or "Costume Play") is a chance for you to dress up as your favorite characters from a graphic novel, manga, anime, sci-fi . . . whatever you want – go for it!

The Wildcat Comic Con Cosplay Contest is an opportunity for you to not just wear your favorite costume, but to possibly win an award for it! All graphic novel, manga, anime, video game, science fiction, steampunk, and related genres are allowed. Entrants will be photographed for their official contest entry. Judges will be looking at your craftsmanship and adherence to original character.

Cash prizes for 1st place ($100), 2nd place ($50), and 3rd place ($25) will be awarded.

Registrations will be accepted by mail-in prior to April 13th or on-site until the contest reaches its maximum (100 contestants).

Contestants must be registered for either the full conference or for any 1-day pass. If you are registering for only one day, we suggest you register for Saturday in order to be eligible to attend the awards ceremony.

Contestants may be photographed on either day of the conference, regardless of having a 1-day or full conference pass. If you are registered for Saturday, but wish to have your photograph taken on Friday, please note your registration day on the entry form.

Rules

• All contestants must be registered convention attendees of Wildcat Comic Con 2012.
• All contestants must fill out an entry form fully and accurately.
• A parent or legal guardian of any contestant younger than 18 must sign the parental consent form.
• A contestant can only participate once.
• Costumes must predominately pertain to graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, science fiction, steampunk, or related genres.
• All prop weapons must follow the Wildcat Comic Con Guidelines established by Pennsylvania College of Technology.
• All camera poses must be kept to a rating of "PG-13" or lower.
• In order to judge accuracy, contestants must also send an image of the character they are cosplaying with their entry form. Because judges will not have seen or read every graphic novel/anime/video game available, they will need to see the official version of the image of the character.
• Be ready to answer some questions about your character, costume and experience.
